The Hub for Canadian Women in STEM

My name is Lyssa Neel

I am a Technologist and Entrepreneur.

When I was 10 I wanted to be a doctor.

I work as a the President of Linkitz.

I am proud of getting my Ph.D. in computer science at MIT. It has opened many doors, and it is an accomplishment that stays with you forever.

The biggest obstacle I have faced was no one ever noticed me because I was a quiet girl. First, I had to recognize that I had something important to say, and second, learn to make myself heard.

My advice to women is that technology is moving into our lives more and more every day. Working in STEM is the difference between being a passive observer and an active participant. Be a participant! You might build or discover something that changes the world as we know it.
